Paeonia 'Firelight'

type: [herbaceous peony] – [herbaceous hybrid]

FIRELIGHT (Saunders - Quadruple, semi-double rose pink

FIRELIGHT (1950) - Quadruple, semi-double rose pink.

Firelight Bright warm pink, flared deeper with crimson stigmas and gold center. Fine. ( QUADRUPLE HYBRIDS A "Mloko-macro" hybrid was crossed onto officinalis, and the resulting triple hybrid was in turn crossed onto an albiflora. Mloko gives them their golden ivory sheen, and many are brillantly flared. Introduced from 1949 on, their blooming season covers VE, E, and often on into M, Very few seeds are set.)

Firelight (Saunders 1950) E-EM.  Single; petals a cool, brilliant fuchsia pink, centered by red-purple flares, filaments and stigmas—a striking flower.  Light fragrance.  Medium sized bush, good choice for the mixed border and floral design.  Summer foliage appearance benefited by shade in the Midwest.  Triploid, a Saunders Quads Hybrid.  No fertility noted.

(-8) Another beautiful creation of professor Saunders. Large and luminous simple flower of a dark pink at the opening which quickly fades to a pale pink. Contrasting rasperry flares at the base of each petal complete the beauty of this spring flower. Early bloomer. Slightly fragrant. Plant of 90 cm. For a luminous spring garden !

Hauteur : 1 m. Précoce.

Sevald:

FIRELIGHT (Saunders, 1950) Hybrid, early. Flowers are a delicate pink; at the inside base of each petal is a prominent red flare, giving the appearance of a cheerfully dancing fire, although the flower in the picture in not opened enough to show these bold brush strokes. An exotic beauty for your collection

Rose; single, excellent in the landscape
