Hong Xia Hui. Crown form. Flowers 17cm x 6cm, purplish red (53-B); the outer petals 2- 3-whorled, stiff, entire and regular, suffused with deep purple at the base; the inner petals sparse, wrinkled; pistils developed, petaloid, greenish coloured. Stalks stout, stiff, flowers upright or lateral. Flowering midseason. Plant medium height, partially spreading. Branches stout. Leaves long, medium-sized, stiff; leaflets ovate or long-ovate, deeply lobed, apex acuminate, the margins curved upwards, upper surface yellowish green, conspicuously suffused with purplish red. Growth vigorous, flowers relatively few. Bred by Zhaolou Peony Garden, Heze in 1965. |
